Agenda - New Faculty Orientation will be held Thursday, August 14, 2008, from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. in the Student Union Ballroom. A complimentary lunch will be provided. Deans will introduce new faculty members at 8:30 a.m.
RSVP Form - Please complete the attached form so that all new faculty members may be provided detailed information about the orientation programs. Return the form to 101 Whitehurst no later than Friday, July 18, 2008. If there are no new faculty members in your department, please check the appropriate box prior to returning the form. This workshop is designed to assist you in assuring that your faculty members receive adequate orientation to their professional environment. We strongly encourage the attendance of your new colleagues.
New Teaching Assistants, Adjunct and Visiting faculty - We encourage new teaching assistants and adjunct or visiting faculty to join us for a discussion of academic policies. This meeting is scheduled from 1:30 p.m. – 3:30 p.m., Thursday, August 14th in 413/415 Student Union. Contact the Graduate College for additional information about this session.
Benefits - New faculty will have an opportunity to enroll in their benefits plan on Wednesday, August 13th from 2-4:30 p.m. or Friday, August 15th from 9-11:30 a.m. New employees have 30 days from their hire date to select their benefits options. Indicate on the attached form which new faculty members are interested in enrolling at this time. Please send someone to pick up benefits packets from Employee Services, 106 Whitehurst by Monday, August 11, 2008. Faculty need to review the benefits packet prior to Benefits Enrollment.
