Oklahoma’s
annual Women in Higher Education
Conference offers an opportunity for
women across the state to come together
to discuss issues of higher education
gender equity. We invite you to join us.
Special Speakers this
year are Dr. Shirley Raines,
President of the University of Memphis
and Congresswoman Mary
Fallin, Fifth District of Oklahoma
Congressional Representative.
Session Topics for
This Year's Conference Will Include:
Building Political & Personal Power
A discussion of
the importance of building networks, managing effective consensus
building, and the art of negotiation in building personal and political
influence. The importance of personal perseverance of women in the
political process will also be explored.
Leading in Litigious Times
In litigious
times, leaders in colleges and universities need to be alert to first
avoiding litigations, and then, if unsuccessful, know how to manage,
negotiate, and resolve legal matters in the university community.
Managing & Leading Change
An examination of
the change process in differing contexts: from one’s personal life to
the work place environment to substantive change in an organization’s
mission/vision. The discussion will focus on leading and managing
change in various types of organizations.
Developing Leadership Diversity
An appreciation of
the value of diversity in the leadership of an institution requires an
understanding of ethnic, cultural, and gender differences. The
discussion will explore the building of such awareness and an inclusive
community. |
