About OSU Alerts

Oklahoma State University has partnered with CodeRed to implement a service for the OSU community that will notify people in the case of an emergency. These emergencies may include:

  • A campus intruder
  • Acts of terrorism
  • Biohazard threats
  • It is important to note that alerts will not be used for weather-related events unless the situation poses a threat to the lives of people on campus.

In a situation deemed an emergency, OSU officials will deploy a message to members of the OSU community with information regarding the event and how they should proceed. This information may be in the form of a voice and/or mobile text.

To subscribe, please click on the link below and log into your O-Key account. From there you may navigate to to the left nav bar and select “Emergency Contacts.” If you have any questions, please contact the IT help desk. Be sure to update your information with any changes.

Why should I provide my emergency contact information?
Having information enables you to make choices regarding your personal safety. Providing your cell phone and other contact information ensures that those with the latest information can contact you quickly and easily.

Will I be charged for text messages?
You will be charged for text messages only if your provider charges for you to receive text messages.

Will my emergency contact information be published?
No, it is only to be used by OSU for notification of an emergency.
