Arts & Sciences Honors Top Ten Seniors

STILLWATER, OKLA. – The Oklahoma State University College of Arts & Sciences honored its 2006 Top Ten Graduating Seniors on April 18 at the college’s Honors and Award Banquet in the Wes Watkins Center. 

Students receiving the honor were Mollie Buzzard, Cathy Cesar, Heidi Goertz, Kyle Jones, Todd Mollet, Laura Nielsen, Nick Rasmussen, Michelle Slape, Grant Wilson and Kristel Wilson.

The College of Arts & Sciences chooses Top Ten Seniors each spring semester through an application and interview process based on grades and overall involvement in the college and on campus.

Mollie Buzzard of Hunter, Okla., is a history major.  She is the daughter of Doug and Karen Buzzard

Cathy Cesar, an English major with a Spanish minor, is from Altus Okla. She is the daughter of Stephen and Michaele Cesar.

Heidi Goertz, an Honors College Degree candidate in political science and studio art, is from Stillwater, Okla. She is the daughter of Kristin Waldo and Dirk Goertz.

Kyle Jones of Norman, Okla., is an Honors College Degree candidate in political science and economics with a minor in History.  He is the son of Ron and Amy Williams.  Jones was also named this year’s winner of the Kenny Gallagher Memorial Award, which is given to the student among the Top Ten who best exemplifies Kenny Gallagher’s example of scholarship, leadership, and service to the college.

Todd Mollet, a physiology major, is from Yukon, Okla.  He is the son of Ronald and Christine Mollet.

Laura Nielsen of Yukon, Okla. is an Honors College Degree candidate in journalism & broadcasting with an emphasis in advertising and minors in marketing and Spanish.  She is the daughter of Jerry and Ann Nielsen.

Nick Rasmussen of Tekamah, Neb., is an Honors College Degree candidate in zoology.  He is the son of Dick and Jan Rasmussen.

Michelle Slape, an advertising major with a minor in speech communication, is from Tahlequah, Okla. and is the daughter of Mike Slape and Patti and Rodney Sumner.

Grant Wilson of Edmond, Okla. is an Honors College Degree candidate in English with a concentration in film.  He is the son of Ann and Randy Wilson.

Kristel Wilson, a communications sciences and disorders major, is from Medford, Okla.  She is the daughter of Dan and Nancy Wilson.
