STILLWATER, OKLA. – A crowd of nearly 25,000 listened to President George W. Bush deliver the commencement address to more than 2,600 members of this year’s graduating class at Oklahoma State University.
Following Bush’s address he was presented with an honorary degree. OSU System CEO and President David Schmidly and OSU Provost Marlene Strathe presented President Bush with a Doctor of Laws in Agricultural Economics from the College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources and Political Science from the College of Arts and Sciences.
Today marked the third time a sitting U.S. President has spoken to an OSU commencement: President Richard Nixon, May 1974; President George H. W. Bush, May 1990 and President George W. Bush May 2006.
