    WellnessWellness tip: Cut the sodium
Did you know that roughly 80 percent of our daily sodium (salt) intake comes from processed and restaurant foods? The average American consumes about 4,000 mg a day, much more than the recommended 2,300 mg for most healthy adults. Minimizing your intake of processed and packaged foods is one of the best ways to cut the sodium in your diet. Many frozen dinners, canned foods, processed meats, savory snacks, bottled sauces, dressings, and condiments are high in sodium. Wellness tips are brought to you by the OSU Seretean Wellness Center, dedicated to making OSU the Healthiest Campus in America. For more information about services for students, faculty and staff, call 744-WELL (9355).
