Animal scientist and autistic expert Temple Grandin, whose life story put to film recently won five Emmy awards, will be speaking today in Gallagher-Iba Arena at 2 p.m. This year, Time magazine named her one of the 100 most influential people, and in July, Grandin received a Lifetime Achievement Award from the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association. Celebrate Constitution Day with Regent Andy Lester
Andy Lester, member of the OSU/A&M Board of Regents, will be the guest speaker as OSU celebrates Constitution Day Thursday, in the Peggy V. Helmerich Browsing Room, Edmon Low Library, from 3:30-5 p.m. Lester will present “Constitutionalism in the 21st Century: Is the Rule of Law Relevant?” The event is free and open to the public. A reception will follow.

Grammy nominee to offer free solo recital and more
Guest pianist Ursula Oppens will perform a solo recital on Saturday, Sept. 18, at 8 p.m. in the Concert Hall of OSU’s Seretean Center for the Performing Arts. Her program will include works by Beethoven, Mendelssohn, Scriabin, and contemporary American composers John Corigliano and Elliott Carter. She will present a piano master class on Friday, Sept. 17, from 3-5 p.m. in the Choir Room of the Seretean Center. Both events are free and open to the public.

The History Club Classic Film series will show "Jules et Jim" Wednesday at 7 p.m. in 313 CLB. Directed by Francois Truffaut, it tells the three-way story of two friends and an impulsive young woman. The film is free and open to the public.
