Veterinarian to present “The Pet Owners Guide to Cancer”
Veterinary oncologist Kimberly Reeds will present “The Pet Owner’s Guide to Cancer” at the Pet Care Seminar on Tuesday, Nov. 2, at 7 p.m. in McElroy Hall Auditorium. Reeds will cover common cancers afflicting pets and how to treat them. She will also share some new treatment options. Pet Care Seminars are open to the public at no charge. Complimentary parking and light refreshments will be available. McElroy Hall is located at the corner of McFarland and Farm Road on the Stillwater campus.
Wellness tip: Trick yourself into walking faster
Walking briskly, as opposed to walking slowly, is a great way to achieve and maintain your fitness level. Trick yourself into doing this simply by swinging your arms faster. What your arms do, your feet will soon follow. Remember to keep your elbows close to your body and at 90 degrees.
Mindfulness and yoga for stress reduction
The Psychological Services Center, affiliated with the OSU Department of Psychology, will be offering “Meditation & Stress Reduction” for individuals through mindfulness and yoga practice. Get assistance handling stress, worry, and/or sadness. The group is scheduled to begin in early November. For more information, please call (405) 744-5975.
