Regent chair of the OSU and system presidential search committee to brief fellow regents on status of the process at meeting on Saturday
Board will meet in executive session and no action anticipated

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK, October 19, 2007 - - The OSU A&M Board of Regents will meet in a special session tomorrow at 2:00 p.m. on the Stillwater campus.  The Regents will convene in an executive session to allow Regent Doug Burns who serves as Chairman of the OSU and System Presidential Search Committee an opportunity to brief the entire Board on the progress of the process to select the next President of OSU and the System.

“I do not anticipate the Board will take any action tomorrow,” commented Doug Wilson, Executive Secretary of the OSU/A&M Board of Regents. “The meeting is simply informational to bring the entire Board up to speed on the status of the search.  Additionally, OSU’s Homecoming weekend provided a convenient opportunity for the entire Board to meet.”

Chairman Burns has stated in the past that it is his desire for the Regents to select the next President of OSU and the System by the end of this year.   Even though the Committee does not report the number of applicants, Chairman Burns has stated that the committee has been impressed with both the quality and the quantity of the candidate pool.
